Communities and Wildfire

from Carol Dollard, CSU Energy Engineer and Fire Fighter

Recent and prospective wildfire seasons in Colorado provide a sense of urgency to better communicate with residents, communities, and the general public about wildfire management. I'd like to invite you to a presentation/discussion on communities and wildfire led by Dr. Sarah McCaffrey. Sarah is a research social scientist with the US Forest Service Northern Research Station and is one of the foremost researchers on people and wildfire. She will be in Colorado in early March and on behalf of the Southern Rockies Fire Science Network, I am hosting a get-together at 4:30 PM, Thursday, March 7 in room 114 Forestry Building on the Colorado State University campus. Sarah will present on 10 years worth of research and there will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A and open discussion.

Thanks,

Tony Cheng
Director,
Colorado Forest Restiration Institute

Much of the snow caught in tree branches just evaporates back into the air without ever touching the ground. Another reason to thin.
